At day, Tokyo is quite an ugly city. Concrete is to be seen everywhere you go. As time passes, you’ll come to see through the ugliness that is called the concrete jungle and learn the beauty and riches that Tokyo has to offer.
Especially at night, the city oozes a vibrant, moody atmosphere when you walk down the streets of Kabukichõ, Roppongi or Shibuya.
To look at it from a perspective, I always go to an observatory located at one of the many skyscrapers available for free or paid entry.
This is when the concrete jungle is no more, this is where it has transformed into a proud city showing off it’s splendours with all its might. Yes, I am biased. Sure there were many times when I despised the city, the transportation, the loneliness. Yet for every negative aspect, there is always a positive one if you look in right direction.
Love it or hate it, living in Tokyo is like a relationship where you have to endure the good, the bad and the ugly.

That was a beautiful description of Tokyo! So well-written too! ^^
And that picture is stunning, I can almost imagine the ugly and the pretty of the city you’ve described. It’s made quite an impact on you…^_^
